How to get the people who don't know to search for you.
Everyone says that the best way to get quality targeted traffic is to optimize your web page for the keywords your prospects will be searching for. This does a great job of getting the people that know they want your product or service. However, in many cases people don't know to search for what you offer until you tell them about it.
As a talent scout searching for aspiring talent, I realize that many who have the potential, never consider searching on how to get a start in the business. Most people assume that they will have to pay the high up-front fees of a modeling or talent agency.
The way I try to get around this is creating pages that have no direct relevance to my services and include a backlink on those pages to my services.
In some cases, I just create a page for fun, such as my Free Joke Of the Day
Other times, I'll set up a page to advertise another product line that I do on the side, such as Rent Movies, Play Games, & Download Music. In this case, I have a chance to make money through the visitors purchase or rental of the movies, etc or them possibly deciding they'd rather be in the movies then watch them.

Yeah, I totally agree with you on this! In fact, I practice the same thing as it pertains to creating "special topic" (cf. "niche") pages & sneaking my primary opportunities in too. And I have quite a few of them on different domains, covering a variety of topics.
