How and when I joined GDI and what really appealed to me. I would say that making income did appeal to me quite a bit, but the product was the thing that won me over.

16 years ago at the tender age of 19 I became an amway distributor, I had high ambitions, tried to be all I could be, a good leader to my downline, brought the products, used them, encouraged my downline to do the same, attended seminars, got fired up about money, travel, holidays, cars, houses, all the things we long for in life, I actually was near the 21% BV markup and was on my way to being an Amway Direct Distributor to my whole downline. For 4 years I tried to build a successful downline and all through those 4 years I saw them drop like flies, the products where great I give amways that, the compensation plan was doable the motivational tools were second to none, but buying the product in US dollars from NZ dollars in those days took it's toll on me and my downlines finances. And actually would take it's toll on amyway distributors today, because of the NZ dollar being so weak against the green back.

I had to make a personal decision for myself and family. I QUITED, but never lost site of the determination amways taught me to posses and thankful to them for that. I still buy amway products today, but as a consumer not a distributer, and I still believe they have some of the best products made by a company today. So for the last 16 years I went in and out in what I call now magic bean opportunities, trying to find that one vehicle that would help me succeed.

And 16 years later and 2 months into 2007 I found GDI, for the last 5 years being online I joined paid to read e-mails, incentive sites, sites where they drip feed pennies to you for doing a whole bunch of nothing, even joined free website hosting places like geocities, bravnet, big daddy, to try and promote these programs and make some money from them, but they demanded and required more surfing, clicking, reading, promoting than I ever done in my entire life. And still only making pennies. I threw them all in 3 years ago and knew nope thats not for me.

Now when I did read up on GDI and found that the product they promote was in fact your own domain name and website and that I could use it for anything as well as an opportunity to make an income, wasn't I surprised, after dealing with so much products through amways and having to explain everything from shampoos to dish washing detergent to people.

I thought now domain names and website I could promote, a simple product, instant upon sign up, does not need to be shipped, stocked or refrigerated, now for once I could concentrate on promoting one product, one opportunity and it will be worth all my time and effort.

I was over the moon. I signed up in the first week of march 2007, transferred all the skills I learnt from amways and applied them to GDI and now growth is happening at a pace where controlling it depends upon a lot of factors, which I am learning to harness daily, to speed it up, but also people in your downline have their own pace as well, so it does depend on a lot of factors.

So I got back in touch with a lot of amway distributors I had in my downline all those years ago, sent them the opportunity and now a lot of my downline are X-amway distributors :), and what better kind of people do you want in your downline, people with drive and determination already, and from a lot of them the income they have generated for me, I can only say I'm thankful to them. But they all know my leadership skills and never doubted the opportunity I sent to them, would not make them financially free as well.

So I would have to say, the income appealed to me first then the product, but now that I've used and have seen how many people out there could use the GDI product has become the biggest puller for people becoming an affiliate of GDI having your own domain name and website and now the building of relationships of people in my downline is another at the top priority on my list. Because without them we have no income.

Now updating this blog from 2007 to 2009 my business is now in over 15 countries and my income has grown tremendously. I knew GDI was the one that could make me financially free, my belief in GDI has never let up. And the work I have done in building my business over the pass, nearly going on 2 years is paying off.

Thank you GDI and to my Downline for making my dreams come true.
