What makes a person successful..

Tying into what both Andrew and Rajeev spoke of, working hard and learning to work smart are critical.

Even visualising your good takes energy, effort, persistence, vision, love and patience. All of that is work!

So being willing to work consistently everyday would be in my top five list of attributes necessary to propel any of us to a pinnacle of success in whatever area we choose.

For me the most important thing to be successful is vision.. Vision is nothing but a dreram that you want to achieve at any cost. You should visualise the future of anything. Alongwith comes the qualities as mentioned by Andrew

There may be lots of reasons: perseverance, knowledge, motivation, need/urgency (for example if you're broke it may motivate you to achieve).

Failure is a hard one, sometimes things are outside of your control, or you may not be "tuned-in"; the lack of those qualities that make you succeed may also contribute. Withdrawal of your attention to something can also make it fail.
