A Breath of Inspiration

Inspiration literally means "breathe". Think about that for a moment. To inspire someone is to provide them with breath, to literally breathe on them and give them inspiration. What a concept! Giving breath is giving life. Without breath, there is no life. So each time we unselfishly give of ourselves, lead by example, or lighten the room with our warm wit and loving attitude we literally give life! We inspire!

Some time ago I had a boss that was all about the harsh ruling by fear and intimidation. Everything was about "beating" the slackers into doing whatever task was at hand. Write them up, threaten them, suspend them, post declarations and writs about how they will suffer if they are unable to live up to a particular standard! Finally, pushed beyond belief, I put my foot down and decided to ignore his harsh statements and actions, to lend a hand to those who worked for me, and to offer my ear so I could first understand what was in their hearts and lives.
