How a quiet skateboarder from rural Missouri became a millionaire in five years

I don't want to work for someone else for the rest of my life. I've been saying that for as long as I can remember but a few months ago I put that goal into action. I found a proven system for success and have been determined to create financial and time freedom. Sixty five seems like an awfully old age to retire. I want to retire when I'm forty. I want to enjoy summers with my kids and not have to ask my employer if I have enough PDO's to cover the time I'm asking for. I want my wife to spend a day at the mall and not wonder if the credit card is going to max-out.
So, what is this proven system? The system is known as network marketing; an industry that has been around for nearly six decades creating more millionaires than any other industry on the planet and yet so few are involved in it even to this day. You've heard of Mary Kay, Amway, Herbalife, Melaleuca, etc. Well, those companies are just a few that have become household names over time. They've done so well for themselves that they've shifted the way commerce is being conducted in the traditional since. AT&T and Coca-Cola are looking at network marketing as the next means of distribution.
What is network marketing? Well, say you find a restaurant in your town that has the best service you've ever seen. You're so impressed with the wait staff, the food, the prices that you tell a friend about it. What if that restaurant issued you a check for each referred customer? And the more customers you referred the more the checks came in, and even got bigger as the restaurant's customer base grew. Instead of the restaurant paying money to advertise they paid you instead. That's the whole premise behind network marketing.
So, why are they called pyramid schemes? It is said that this industry has a 95% attrition (drop-out) rate. That's not because the compensation plan is flawed or that the products are inferior. It's because the people who get involved in network marketing let those they love and trust tell them that it is not possible to succeed in this industry. People see the pyramid hierarchy and they run in the opposite direction. We should not be afraid of the pyramid for it is and always will be the greatest structure ever created. Every company on Earth has a pyramid in place. It's always narrower at the top then it is at the bottom. Find out which pyramid you want to belong to. Do you want to be paid wages that are under the rate of inflation? Do you want a manager telling you when to work, when to go on break, when to go on vacation, how to dress, how to do YOUR job? Does the CEO give himself a raise every time the stock prices in the company go up 1/10th of a percentage point and yet you haven't received a raise in over a year? This doesn't seem like the pyramid that I want to work for.
I recently read the latest edition of Entrepreneur magazine and every month they have a list of franchises that you can start and upfront costs of doing so. I believe it was CoffeeNews who had the lowest start-up costs at around $7000. Seven thousand dollars is a lot of money to start your own business. That is just the franchise fees alone. When you get involved with network marketing your working for yourself but not by yourself. This is your business and the results are reflective of your efforts. I've never before seen a business that you can start for the price of a Xbox 360. That's right I paid $299 to start my own business. There are several people that I know that could easily spend that in one weekend.
Maybe you don't have $299 laying around to start a business with but the idea of financial freedom is appealing to you. Well, make a commitment to yourself that now is the time to take hold of your life and make a change. Some of us have jobs that we enjoy and doing something else would seem absurd. I'm not saying quit your day job if you love what you're doing. There are plenty of people in the industry that do this part-time and they are bringing in a few extra thousand a month. They've now got the freedom to spend with their family if they choose to do so.
Recently a co-worker told me that he doesn't have any friends and rarely talks to his family. If I wasn't so excited about the potential this has to change everyone's lives then I would have been depressed and contemplated suicide. No, seriously this business does not require you to be a celebrity amongst your social circle. You don't even have to go after your "warm market" as the industry likes to call it. I will however make a commitment to you that if you join me in this crusade that I will offer endless advice, mentoring and proven strategies.
Right now you are on one of the largest social networking sites ever created. It is said that Myspace has well over 70 million subscribers. Of my friends, the ones I actually have met and shared extensive dialog with, there's maybe a few that only have 7 friends at the least. So I know most of you have a friend or two that respects your opinion and would go into the trenches with you if you asked them to. If you asked any one of them to go into business with you they'd be more then glad to do so even before you unfolded the laundry, so to speak. So what are you waiting for? Ask them.
It is my dream that one day all of my closest friends and I, including their children if they have any, can go on vacation anywhere in the world. I've got friends I haven't seen in over ten years and wouldn't it be great if we could hop on a plane and meet in Fiji if we wanted to? You're only limited by the excuses you use to not get involved. As I've said there's a proven system in place that practically guarantees success. Join me in this quest to financial and time freedom. You won't regret you did.

You've made it to the end. Woo! That was a long one. If you're ready to write the next chapter in your life then please read the next blog entry. I'll let you in on the compensation plan and how you can make some serious money!!
