10 Ways to Clean Grout from Tiles to Make Them Good As New

by Emily Scott Emily Scott

Tiles are a very popular flooring material. They cover the floors around swimming pools, inside bathrooms, even in living rooms and religious buildings. However, since the tiles have gaps between their edges, they become hiding places for all sorts of dirt and grease. Hence, tiles tend to appear darker and filthier as time goes on.

If not for the aesthetics, you should care about this fact for your health. Dirt and grease gathered in those crevices can become a breeding ground for bacteria. To clean grease and dirt and bacteria out of these tiles is not very hard, and there are multiple solutions, most of which are available at MP Moran. Here are 10 ways that you can clean grout from tiles to make them as good as new.

10 Tile Cleaner Methods

1. Mix 3 cups of water, half a cup of baking soda, 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice and ¼ cup white vinegar. Shake them up in a spray bottle. Spray them on your tiles, especially in the cracks. Let it settle for a while and then scrub out the grease and dirt.

2. Take 1 cup of Epsom salts, ½ cup banking soda, ¼ cup liquid hand wash or dish soap and mix them. This mixture will be a semi-solid mass. Hence it can’t be spray. You need to scrub it into the tiles and then rinse out the dirt.

3. Take ½ cup baking soda, ¼ cup hydrogen peroxide and 1 teaspoon of dish soap. Mix these and then use a spoon to dump the mixture on to the grease and dirt. Wait for 10 minutes before rinsing and scrubbing.

4. Take a single cup each of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Sprinkle the former on to the dirt and grease until it’s completely covered. Then take the hydrogen peroxide and put it in a spray bottle. Use the bottle to spray the baking soda. Wait for 10 minutes and then wipe the mixture off.

5. Take ¾ cup baking soda, ¼ cup lemon juice, and 3 tablespoons each of salt and dishwashing liquid. Also, take ½ cup vinegar and 10 drops of essential oil. Mix these in a bowl. Make sure that it’s a deep bowl since the mixture will foam up a lot. Pour it into a spray bottle and then spray it on the grout. Let it settle for a few minutes and then scrub.
