How to learn better English

First, read a news paper, and have a dictionary with you to look up the meaning
of words that you are not sure of. Secondly, read a lot of books. Don't be
afraid to pick titles, and subjects that are new to you. The third thing to do
is word games, they will challenge you to learn a lot of different words. The
next thing to do is watch a lot of English movies, it is fun way of learning.
Listen to the way they pronounce words and the context they use it in. Another
helpful way is to talk to yourself, I mean in your mind, in english.
Everything you say to yourself in your "mother tongue" now say it to yourself
in english. In this way, you will look for words to say, and then learn them
very easily. Sixthly, ask your friend(s),whom you trust won't make fun of you,
to speak to you in English, this will definitely escalate your learning.
Lastly, when it comes to your personality, don't ask others in the begining,
ask yourself what is lacking in your command of the English language. When you
put your finger on what you need, then you can ask people to help you strengthen
it.

Very sound advice. I helped my wife become acquainted with Conversational English, and we started with American movies she had seen a hundred times in Argentina, and basically knew well, and then watched it with Spanish Subtitles, to make sure she was still understanding. Then we used Family Guy, to show who Americans Banter, and how we joke, currently. Simply using and thinking in s much English as possible, makes you search for words, and before you know it people will think you have been here forever.
