Social Networking Builder Think Tank

The reverse way of building social networking

by Fan Luo

The second wave of building social networking should be done reversely, build it from grassroot and form the network gradually and evolutionally, just like how the internet was born and matured, instead of the current centralized and drop-in boom style. Every social networking activitist should have his/her own social networking site setup in his/her own internet-connected PC or desktop, and mutually connected at will to form micro-network and eventually a couple of big-boom hot central networks. FreeWish, a free software produced at www.feasystem.com, is just such a tool wanted to accomplish that. To do the same thing again, we need a different kind of thinking, doing it reversely is the simple straight forward answer.

Hello Fan,

That is interesting how you suggest that social networking might now change and become micro-network(ing)

Since I've never really thought about how social networks are put together as they are... to be introduced to an innovative way to think differently does make me wonder about the internet and how it has evolved...

I hope you write more about this

Hi Fan...

just spent some time looking at your site http://www.feasystem.com/1176575900743.html that's the page iwth all the birds! Nice!

and I can see how this may be of interest. What I'm concerned about is security. You're computer/laptop has software that interfaces with the website/server.... and then invited members can access your blogs etc...

do I have this correct? What prevents them from accessing your computer?

You can store? all your pictures etc... online with this? or only on your own computer?

Lots of questions.

Hi Beth,

See your comments. The website/server is setup in your own PC or laptop. If your computer/laptop has internet access for browsing, you already have security concern, setting up FreeWish in your computer or laptop does not add up or reduce the security risk.

FreeWish publish and serve the content you specified to a visitor right from your computer's hard disk, it does not upload or download the content to a central website. You can make the content in three different way, public, private, and share (access group). The content you see from my website are public.

To form micro-networking, my thinking is each computer installed FreeWish can join each other in a two-way style of joining process. If one site owner publish a message, the message will appear on both computers if they are in a joining computer groups (that is it: the micro-networking)

Hope to answer more of your questions.
