Do You Have Trouble Marketing on Facebook?

Many people have trouble marketing on Facebook for various reasons. It can be tricky to market on Facebook if you don’t understand the dynamics of the community and the rules as they apply to marketing.
Facebook users generally do not like marketing. If they notice someone trying to market to them, they will go out of their way to remove that person from their friends list, or at the very least tune them out. Thus, marketing on Facebook requires a certain degree of subtlety that is not required on other platforms.
If you’re having trouble with Facebook marketing, you need to analyze exactly what you are doing. Here are a few questions you should ask yourself. If you answer yes to any of them, you should examine the situation and consider changing what you are doing.
Are you posting direct links to sales pages?
Are you using hard selling techniques or trying to pressure people into clicking or buying something?
Are you using Facebook almost exclusively for marketing rather than socializing and getting to know potential prospects?
Are you failing to provide real, quality content to Facebook users?
These types of tactics do not work on Facebook. The community on Facebook doesn’t like hard selling. They don’t like guerilla marketing. They don’t like people who sign up to Facebook with the sole intent of selling something.
In order to market effectively through this platform, you must be subtle. Instead of linking directly to your affiliate link, write a great article or create an informative video and link to that from Facebook. Then you can advertise your product from that page. This will give you more credibility with your Facebook friends, and people will pay more attention to what you say.
