What does it really take to start an online business of your own?

We are NOT talking about replicated websites or MLM companies, but we want to know what YOU think you need as a bare minimum to get started online.

Here are three basic things you will need to get started:

A Domain of Your Own ( http://mkw-ind.biz/domains/ ) - You need branding for your product or business and your own domain is the cheapest and easiest way to start.

Hosting for your Domain ( http://mkw-ind.biz/wordpress-setup-and-hosting/ ) - I am a firm believer that you should NEVER host your domain with the same company that you purchased it from. That is why we offer domains through Wild West Domains and our Hosting through a separate server farm. Don't get caught up with buying AND hosting through GoDaddy or other companies like them.

An Autoresponder ( http://aweber.com/MKWeb )- You will need to build a contact list if you want your business to grow and the easiest way to do this is through an autoresponder service. Aweber is my favorite and has always been listed as one of the top two or three since they started.

What else do you think you may need?

I think you will need lots of money to really start making money online or anywhere else.

Not really Robert,
You can buy a domain for less than $10 and then get website hosting for about $45 a year. The rest is just time, research and putting together products people want and need.

I think a business plan and some goals are very important too.

A Business Plan is critical for the success of any venture, and if you live in the USA and expect to deduct expense you better have ONE written and in place if you are ever audited
