Hi, Roy!

Great idea!

I've been a Blogger girl since August, 2004 but recently dived in after many failed attempts and set up a WP blog that doesn't irritate me everytime I look at it. I still need to finetune it a LOT though.

I find WP MUCH harder to set up but I do LOVE the categorisation feature.. hence the move as I didn't have that with my blogger blog hosted on my own site. Labels are available for Blogger blogs hosted on Blogger.

Anyway, I'll drop by again to share what I'm learning or if I get stuck and need your wise advice! Until then, Blessings,

Angela.

Hey Angela,
How are things going with you and WordPress?

I have set up most of my sites now using and it really is pretty easy once you get the right theme and the right place to install it. I use the Semiologic Pro theme as it gives the very best functionality and capabilities from right within WordPress.

I also use 1and1.com for my provider with one of their developer accounts. This gives me unlimited number of domain, 4000 email accounts, 100 databases, and a ton of other features. Their tech support has been very good over the couple years I have been using them.

It only takes me about 15 minutes to create a new WP site under them and they have been extremely stable.

Let us all know how your stuff has been going and happy blogging,
Roy

Hi Roy,
You probably paid a pretty penny for semio. I used it in beta and then when they came out with the price, I had to say no thanks. There are just too many themes out there and if you know a little PHP, you can make WP stand up and SING!!!

More and more plugins are being released (you DO have to check them to make sure they work on the latest release) and some of them are pretty slick.
I like my Buy Me A beer (or Coffee if you prefer) It allows your visitor to send money to your Paypal accocunt if they thought your article was worthwhile. You would be surprised how many $1 and $5 'sales' I get from my blogs using this plugin!

Hi, Roy,

Thanks for that great info! Funny you ask about WP.... my host had a security breach and I have no clue how to log back into my WP admin panel... just waiting for their tech support to fix.

I love the categorisation feature as I said above, but I'm not a tech and don't want to learn the tech of fiixng WP.... If this had happened with blogger, my blog would have been up again two minutes AFTER my sites got back online because I login via blogger, not my site, write then click publish and up it comes on my site immediately.

NOT impressed and definitely feeling out using blogger again....

Cheers,

Angela.
