Are You Wasting Your Savings?

I am not a good spender and I advise others too to avoid doing so. Some of friends laugh at me saying I am a miser. But I call myself a spendthrift.
What I do is to go for the essential things in life. If I have to indulge in luxury, then someone must pay me so. At times, I do spend like celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, reunions etc. but they are all forgotten because some people think they are a part of my duty!
I strongly believe that avoiding wastage and living a simple life instead trying to show our status to others can save a lot which can be rightfully spent on one's children and for future security.

Yesterday, I posted a blog after receiving a letter from my friend Arvind. If you have mised it, please read it here:

Mohan, I strongly agree with you. You say: "I strongly believe that avoiding wastage and living a simple life instead trying to show our status to others can save a lot which can be rightfully spent on one's children and for future security." This is one of the very best philosophies to have in life. It beats trying to live a fake extravagant life just to impress others.
