I wanted to take my four children on the best holiday before they left home as they were getting older and as a single mother I felt we needed our time together before they go out in the big world.
I knew I didn't have a great deal of money to do that so I just kept dreaming of what that holiday would look like for us. It was Christmas of 2008 and I went with my daughter to buy a blender for the house and the lady at the counter said, as I was leaving, if I wanted to enter the blender competition. I said I did not have time and my daughter said go on mum its just a slogan and you are good at writing slogans.
I wrote a one line slogan and forgot all about it but I never stopped thinking about that sailing holiday I wanted to take my children on.
February 2009 I received a phone call from Sydney saying I had won $7,000.00 to spend on a holiday. I hung up on the poor lady as thought it was a joke. The lady rang me 5 times that day and told me I had won the blender competition.
I got my holiday with my four children and rented the above boat and sailed the Whitsundays for 7 days with them and we snorkelled, laughed, shared 7 nights without phone or TV and woke up to the most beautiful blue water and went to sleep watching the bluest skies....
Please plant your seeds and do not give up as if we truly want something for the good of all around us and we live in that feeling we can make it happen.
