One must have known and heard about "on stage Speaking Blues " when heart flutters and sinks and classic " I concieve ....I concieve ... I concieve ... " syndrome happens blanking off all the world and delivering NOTHING......AH?
For children there is generally no Stage fear or stage blues but for the grown up conscious personalities who have not been on the stage for speaking this Fear of the stage speaking is no less an avooidable ordeal ..Understandably so !!!
And the best way to stall this fear is ?
Preparation .... Preparation ....Preparation ...
by writing down every bit of the word one has to blurt out as a speaker by taking services of the persons who are adept in oration and elocution and the fear vanishes gradually by practice
But have you heard of "Internet Blues"....? AH.....!!
Well I went through this phenomena what I term as "Internet Blues"
I am 80, and took to computer a few years back recently
Though therre was a computer with internet connection in the house where I live and my children and grand children were freely using it having their own free laptops and pcs but this "BOX" always looked and sounded weierd to me
Though I had tried my hand over the computer games with my Grand son who is an expert (now in Canada) yet I always approached the pc with a sense of distance and mystical attitude that the computer in the house exuded
There was always with a trepedation, with the fear in the heart lest I may not spoir or damage the PC and its worthy parts by my ignorance or mis handlindling
So I always maintained a respectful distance from the PC thinking that this gadget is the epitome of the generation gap that exists between me, my son and my grand children
And I foound methos in priding myself on my iGNORACE and my wierd ideas in not touching this BOX for all the good or bad thintgs that my children and grand children were doing in wasting thie time all the while on this clattered BUG >>>? So I thought
My memories of COMPUTER were responsible for this attitude when in 1984 Govt sent us ,a boltched up motley batch of 54 rians (avg age 54) , sent us for computer training for 15 days at Jaipur Rajasthan in a Police Data centre which had the Computer
Unfortunately the Conmputer Sir had gone sick and we were kept waiting and daily shwiong of the data which was being punched and the "COMPUTER" was lodged in sprawling 5-8 rooms for different funtions .Iwas dead slow an horrible experience
But luckily there was a desktop PC available in Training Institute which was cosily tucked in two well decorated AC rooms all glassed
We were made to remove our shoes out side and were sanitised for fear of viruses and then taken to the second glassed room where a young chick BEAU was sitiing manipulating the key boards and explaing the parts accesories and functions of the computer We were not allowed to touch any part of the so sacred as holy cow the PC and were told to get training in handling computer in Delhi
There were no windows then and we were bugged with all sorts of commands which we nver used or ren\membered
The experience was terrifying
With this backgroudg my approach to computers at Home were taiunted with predujice and I always feared them or at the most avoided them
There was great awe and a sense of respectful mysterical secrecy about The PC with an aura of suspense always hanging around with strange tweaking curiosity always forbidding me to be away from this technological marvel
But first time whrn I accesed the internet
it was with grear foreboding andfear I suffered from Internet Blues
