One more pilot has been arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police for forging his documents. The pilot, identified as IndiGo pilot Abhinav Kaushik, has been arrested for forging his marksheet to obtain a Commercial Pilot Licence.

So far, six people have been arrested in the fake pilot case. The first to be apprehended was suspended IndiGo pilot Parminder Kaur Gulati on March 8 and JK Verma of Air India four days later.

Two pilots of budget carrier SpiceJet - Anoop Choudhary and Amit Moondra - have also been for allegedly obtaining Commercial Pilot Licence on the basis of forged flying certificates.

Meenakshi Sehgal of IndiGo, another suspect, has obtained a court order preventing her arrest, though she has been asked to join investigations.

CNN-IBN has also accessed notes from the US Federal Aviation Administration and the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) that exposed how a pilot who cheated, faked documents and had his was cancelled in the US, went on to become is a commander in Air India.

The pilot Arjun Giare was caught by the US examiner in 2000 and the US Federal Aviation then canceled his licence.

But that did not stop Giare from getting a commercial pilot license in India.

Here again, he played dirty. The DGCA issued a showcause notice to Arjun for forging his class 10th marksheet.

The letter dated July 6, 2001, by the DGCA said, "Shri Arjun Giare was issued with Indian CPL no 4003 (A) dated May 15, 2001. Subsequently, on verification of his educational certificates submitted by him, it was confirmed/reported by the Madhyamik Shiksha Board that his class 10th certificate was forged and no such roll no. 0982018 was assigned to the candidate in the year 1996."

Arjun Giare submitted another class 10th certificate from a school in Delhi, the Chinmaya Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School in Vasant Vihar. In that, his date of birth was mentioned as April 2, 1981. The earlier result showed his date of birth as April 2, 1980.

His colleagues allege that it was done to meet the minimum age limit for becoming a pilot.
