Jet Air, JetLite launches 76 new peak season flights

Jet Airways Ltd , India's largest private carrier, said it has launched forty-six new flights across India effective Nov 1 to tap the year-end peak winter season demand.

Its all-economy subsidiary, JetLite, also launched 30 new domestic flights including starting services on eight additional sectors across India, effective Monday.

Jet Airways, its no frills service Jet Airways Konnect , and JetLite together have a combined fleet of 112 aircraft and operate more than 500 flights daily, according to the statement issued late on Monday.

Last week Vijay Mallya-run Kingfisher Airlines also announced plans to launch 22 additional flights on various routes in the domestic sector begining Oct 31.

The Indian aviation sector is bouncing back with domestic passenger traffic growing 18.5 percent in Jan-Sept.

The Jet group has a market share of 26.9 percent. Jet Airways shares were down 0.59 percent at 807 rupees in early trades in a weak Mumbai market.
