1. Place a long tailed keyword
your business competes for at start of title.

Keywords are what get you found online. It is important that you know
what your keywords are. And these days, your keywords have to be more
specific. The competition is too high. If you don?t know what your
keywords are, you?d better find out.

A couple examples of a keyword compared to a long tailed keyword are:

Internet Marketing > Internet Marketing for Small Business

Massage Therapy > Prenatal Massage Boulder, CO

Copywriting > Copywriting for website sales page

2.  Make your title ?Catchy.?

How many times have you heard this? (I?ve heard it close to 1000 times.)
It?s old and boring but even today, it remains true. You have to write a
title that will grab your reader?s attention. Blog readers scan for
what catches their eye. You have to have titles that are captivating;
something that will make your reader?s eyes get large because they?re so
eager to ?dive in? to your blog post. Can you write something that
would create an addiction? If so, you have a catchy title. On a scale of
1 ? 10, 10 being the most catchy, what would you rate the title of this
article?

3. Limit your title to 40 text characters.

It keeps things simple and to the point, but more importantly, the whole
title will show up in the search engine results pages.

4. Review your title and ask ?Does this fill a specific
need??

People search to get their needs met. What need is your article title
fulfilling? At this point, I hope you?re understanding how utterly
important blog post titles are!

5. Organize the body of the post into three parts.

Part 1- Introduce the need mentioned in your title.  Be clear
and concise.  If you have astory related to the topic, share it.

Part 2- Exploit the major issues involved with the specific
need of the topic. Here is where you share the major concerns ?
dissected.

Part 3- The resolution. Provide the answer or solution.  Add
details. Answer the reader?s questions for them.

6. Create subheadings typed in bold text.

Just like I have done for this blog post.

7. Include your reader in the discussion.

Write your post as if you?re writing directly to a very interested
friend.

8. Bold and/or link  keywords.

Share the link love and highlight your most important points by bolding
the text.

9. Keep your post to a 300 word limit.

Blog posts are meant to be short and sweet. Stop sugar coating by being
redundant.

10.  Summarize the main points in three sentences.

Make sure your reader didn?t miss your main points. Add your keyword in
the summary.

11.  Include your call to action.

A reader is 100% more likely to do what you tell them to do if you
actually tell them to do something!

12.  Match the tags to the keywords your article is about.

Sometimes they are called categories. Sometimes Tags. It doesn?t matter,
just put your keywords here.

13. Promote the heck out of the new blog post.

Submit your RSS feed to the blogoshphere. This incredible list of where
to submit your RSS feed will help your new blog post
