High performance teams in Network Marketing

Without players there is no game, it is said in sport. In the NWM world we could say that without high performance teams there is no successful business. It is therefore worth exploring five key elements to achieve a high performance team.

The first thing is to have clarity of purpose.

In fact, to achieve high performance it is not enough to know what you want to achieve, that is, clear and measurable objectives, it is essential to have a higher purpose, what I often like to call “an impossible dream”. The impossible dream is the contribution that someone wants to give to the world; It is the deep and positive mark that you want to leave on humanity.

Second, high performance also requires very ambitious goals.

In fact, high performance is the product of a balance between stress and rest. I'm talking about positive stress, often referred to as "eustress." This positive stress is achieved every time a goal or a project requires us to go beyond the limit of resistance. Therefore, we need to set ourselves ambitious goals that require us to leave everything on the court.

The third thing is to nurture trust and respect among team members

Because they affirm emotional security; the essential ingredient for high productivity. In fact, when fear prevails, there are no conditions for high performance.

On the contrary, when there is trust and respect, the members of a team feel free to contribute, comment, and even disagree. What motivates a team is to realize the purpose and achieve the objectives.

Fourth, high-performing teams are marked by ongoing generative collaboration.

Without this collaboration there is no innovation and there is no success. In a high performance team there is diversity of talents, clarity of roles and responsibilities, and there is cooperation.

Generative collaboration is the opposite of a silo mentality with vertical relationships. In fact, when there is generative collaboration, each element of a team or an organization feels part of a whole that understands and transcends it.

Fifth, Finally, in high performance teams there is communication that is open and permanent.

Therefore, conflict is not perceived as a problem but rather as an opportunity to create, innovate, and improve. This is possible when the respect between the members of a team is also expressed with an attitude of sincere, curious, open listening; the point of view of the other is interpreted as an important contribution.

In short, we live in a complex and ambiguous world, where past practices and experiences do not necessarily enlighten us on the decisions we must make for the future. So in the age of uncertainty, leaders have to develop the ability to create high-performing teams.

As a client told me these days, "Today those who react lose, and those who anticipate win."
