Did you know that 98% of online business fail within 90-120 days. Reason being the owner has no idea how to properly market it. To be profitable you must learn various business and technical skills to become succesfull.
First you need to know what Internet Marketing is and who your market (niche) is. Then learn the various tools and skills to attract visitors to you. Whether it's your website, hubpage, blog, etc. making sure to have helpfull and informative content. Next comes biggest stumbling block of all learning ways to attract search engines. Higher rankings means more visitors which in turn means better chance of sucess.
Most people just starting out find all this to overwhelming from the begining. So they get frustrated and give up thus failing before giving it a solid chance to develop. Patience is hard but very necessary inorder to ever be sucessfull in this and life also. Learn to crawl then to stand then to walk then you can run in the wind of SUCESS!!

You are absolutely right, internet marketing should be the first thing people should learn before trying to build an online business.
I have learned that most people don't have a clue on how to market. Their mind set is that everyone wants what they have and that is far from the truth.
Learning to market a business will get people further than asking every Tom, Dick and Harry on the internet. I see it here on Apsense in the shout boxes people using it to push their business opportunity.
