National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that it has decided to postpone the JEE Main 2021 April session exam due to surge in covid-19 cases recently. JEE Main April session exam was scheduled to be conducted from 27th April to 30th April 2021.

NTA said that the safety and wellbeing of candidates is its top priority and new dates for the exams would be announced later. The fresh dates would be announced at least 15 days prior to the exam.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ tweeted, “Given the current COVID-19 situation, I have advised NTA to postpone the JEE (Main) – 2021 April Session. I would like to reiterate that the safety of our students and their academic career are Education Ministry’s and my prime concerns right now.”

JEE Main 2021 was scheduled to be conducted in four sessions this year i.e. February, March, April & May. The demand for rescheduling the exams raised when CBSE postponed the 12th board exams and canceled the 10th board exams because of the sudden surge in the coronavirus cases in India. February and March session exams were conducted successfully with around 6.20 Lakhs & 5.56 lakhs candidates appearing for the exam respectively for both months.
