ATTN: Embarq phone customers! WARNING PLEASE read!

Hi ALL. If  ANY of you in this group live in an area where EMBARQ is a local phone carrier OR if ANY of you ARE an exisisting EMBARQ customer, PLEASE READ what I am about to say ASAP and VERY CAREFULLY!!

Here is our story. On 'Good Friday' EMBARQ created a 'power surge' to ALL their customers here in PA. They did this ON PURPOSE! What they had successfully done is ERASE the TCP/IP data on my wife's high speed ISDN acct w/them and made her acct ONLY ACCESABILE to EMBARQ! It is still this way until we WILL have the problem fixed by an outside source this coming Saturday, at which point we WILL BE CANCELLING our phone service with them COMPLETELY the following Monday. Thus rendering us phoneless.

I have high speed cable internet service with Comcast. We bought a router so we could run BOTH computers thru Comcast and get rid of EMBARQ. THAT is when we discovered the problem. After a LOUSY EASTER SUNDAY and LONG weekend trying to fix this and BATTLING BOTH Comcast(not THEIR fault, but now THEY are upset with US for EXCESSIVE c/s calls on a holiday) and EMBARQ the culprit we discovered EMBARQ's nict little TRICK they are trying to PULL on ALL customers. They went ahead WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION and UPGRADED the modem and speed. This will effectively make our next phone/internet bill about $200/month! WE CANNOT AFFORD THIS! What they are ALSO PLANNING is to UPGRADE reqular cutomers as well. SO PLEASE WATCH YOU NEXT PHONE BILL VERY CAREFULLY!! You may be in for a surprise when you see that the bill HAS DOUBLED!  Please take this WARNING SERIOUSLY folks! We are DUMPING THEM BEFORE they can UNLOAD an OUTRAGEOUS bill on US WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION. I was in the telecommunications industry for some time(my wife too). This practice IS illegal and AGAINST ALL FCC regulations! I certainly hope I got your attention with this because we ae NOT going to lay down and let EMBARQ walk 'ALL OVER US!'. In conclusion, when my wife called EMBARQ just this AM to solve the problem, the c/s was not ONLY RUDE but ONLY fixed part of the problem. She was having problems with her hotmail emails  and he TRIED to pass it on as an 'MSN' problem. My wife would not buy it, and he managed to suddenly 'find' a problem and fixed that along with some other minor problem. Then when my wife requested to have ALL the TCP/IP data replaced so her pc could run properly he REFUSED TO FIX IT and it is STILL NOT fixed until our outside source can fix the problem and we can run her pc through the router and through Comcast's high speed cable service. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! Have a good day and PLEASE change your phone service IF you are an EMBARQ customer and do it TODAY!

I am not clear about the problem you were having because our ISDN service does not currently provide any modem equipment nor does it have multiple price points. I would like to confirm what type of equipment we provided you and your current service plan.
