What is a Co-op and How Does it Work?

Simply put, a co-op is an advertising co-op in which each member to benefit from the advertising efforts puts in equal shares of money and or time to get Maximum Results!!

The first thing that you need to do is have one member of the co-op collect the funds that you will use to market your opportunity/affiliate program.  You can also do co-op's where each member agrees to advertise in their chosen way to a single url address, usually a tracking link is used.  If you are pooling your funds to purchase large advertising packages then one person will need to collect the funds needed to purchase the advertising.  If you can transfer funds within your company's back office to other member's you can do that, or you can use Paypal or another online payment company.

Once you have all of the funds that you need to purchase your chosen advertising you will need to make sure that each contributor gets an equal share of the website visitors and sign ups.  This is where some tools will come into play.  First of all you will need a rotator to make sure that the hits are evenly distributed to each person's website.  You will also want to have an ad tracker so that you can track your advertising campaigns.  This way you can track which ads are working and which advertising resources and vendors are bringing you the best results.  These are the tools that I use and you can get them for FREE!  Get your FREE ISOR Account Here.

Getting Started - Easy as 1, 2, 3!

1) Set Up Your Rotator

Once you have your rotator you will need to set up a new rotator to use for your campaign.  1) Name your rotator, 2) choose whether you want them to be displayed in order of priority or in order of creation (simply put you can use the priority setting if you want to be able to give different shares to each person in the co-op or the in order of creation to evenly distribute the leads to each member) and then 3) click on the add links to rotator link.  Start adding the url's to be served 1 at a time into your rotator.

2) Set Up Your Ad Tracking Link

Once you have your rotator set up you will then want to copy your new rotator link (highlight the url and then click on CNTRL button while holding down the 'C' button) and then go to the Ad-Alyzer tracker page to set up your ad tracker.

To get started you will want to create a new tracking link by clicking on Create Link from the left of the page.  1) You will now want to paste your rotator link into the first field.   2) Now you will need to set up your forwarding link by choosing a name for your link.  I usually use the name of the co-op, the name of the advertiser or the name of the program that I am advertising.  Choose a name that you will remember.  Once you have chosen a name for your tracker, you will want to choose the extension that will be part of your new link.  It will look something like this:  www.ad-alyzer.com/727/yourextension.  I usually use a short version of the name of the ad campaign that I am doing, name of the lead vendor etc.  Usually shortened to be easy to read in case they need to type it into their browser so that it's easy to duplicate and not so easy to make a mistake with.  Make sure that you check the radio button that says you want to choose your own extension or else it will give you a very long number instead of your own choice of names.

There will also be options to name your lead vendor, type of advertising (banners, solo ads, classified ads, Google Adwords etc.) as well to give a small summary of info to help you remember more details...maybe the ad that will use or something else to help you remember this particular campaign specifically.  For the more advanced user you can also track your sales by adding more information.  You can track manually or track cookies.  Manual tracking is what I would choose for the beginner.

3) Get Your Advertising Started

Once you have your rotator and ad tracker set up you will need to get your advertising campaigns started.  If you have specific lead vendors that you want to use or specific types of advertising that you want to use you will need to set up those campaigns using your new ad tracking link that will then forward to your rotator and divy up all of the website hits to each person's website equally.  If you are looking for advertising vendors that deliver here are a couple to consider.  I have had consistently good results from these:

Rent-A-List - RAL offers several types of advertising including Targeted Email Advertising, Stand Alone Email Delivery, Sponsorship Advertising, Banner and Text Display Advertising.  Rent-A-List offers Guaranteed Results!

Revisitors - Offers high quality targeted traffic to bring you sales, referrals and sign ups for any progm that you are advertising.  You can also get Sponsorship Advertising from Revisitors.

In Summary

Doing co-op's with your team or affiliates will allow you to both leverage your advertising dollars and also your time.  And, by doing regular co-op's to a group rotator you will gain some serious momentum for your program or business as you will always have return visitors that have bookmarked your site to come back later and have a better look.

Co-op's are just one way to amp up your advertising efforts but they should have a valuable place in your advertising arsenal...there is POWER in Numbers and you can multiply your numbers by working together with a team to get the Results that you Want!!

If you are focusing more on Free advertising techniques you can still use the rotator and ad trackers and just have everyone that you are working with advertise to the same url which can give you similar results although you will usually get better results using paid advertising techniques.  Free advertising can be very effective but you will usually need to spend significantly more time establishing a campaign that will deliver.

Whatever way you decide to go, just know that co-op advertising DOES work!  Try it you have nothing to lose and a LOT of Traffic to Gain!!

Wishing you Much Success!
