Does anyone have relevant information on how to get legitimate press releases? I am not talking about "press release websites" nor am I looking for links on how to write a press release.
What I need is the actual process for how to engage someone from the AP to do a press release. I cannot find anything about how to make the pitch! Any help would be great.

The best way is to write to newspaper editors with a query email...it worked out for me with my first book...i was featured in a Michigan online newspaper.
