What can we do to make our children safe?

I have a problem with all the violence that is surrounding our youth. It is sad to say that if you are not aware of your surroundings you are at risk of either getting robbed, car jacked, murdered I can go on and on. My focus as the administrator of this group is to get others to join and give advise or comment on what we can do as parents in keeping our children safer on the streets.
