Staying fit shouldn't be just contained to your own fitness, if you are in a relationship or have a family...let it spill over to them as well!!

My husband now has salad with every dinner. Maybe not a plateful like me, but he is eating it...and since it is there the kids even eat a little now and then with their dinner.

Cooking can be a great way to sneak in a liitle fitness....oops did I only use half the required butter..lol...and I still got raves about the mac and cheese made from scratch...yipeeee....I just scored a few more fitness points.

Sure we can have lunch at the park....the husband and I walk..the kids skateboard or rollerskate and we all play frisbee......a great afternoon out...and snuck in some more fitness.

So you see it really is easy to come up with ways to keep everyone you love a little more fit....without actually having to use the words....exercising and eating right :)

Our son loves Salads and we try to have them every day during summer. In winter we substitute for more "warming" dishes. Billy is at the age where his mouth walks faster than his legs - I don't know how many calories are eaten by talking - but he'd set a record i'm sure ;o)

Our daughter will eat anything (and i mean ANYTHING). She is overweight (42kgs at the age of 8) but because she can't walk its hard for her to slim down.

Hi Lynn,
well you and Monika would get along just fine. The salad game has been playing in our house for about 18 months now. The only problem is our son Shane always manages
to be excused. "I have homework" "I'm doing homework" "I have to meet someone" "There's a party".

I try to be excused and get; "Where are you going?" "Do you know how long i spent making that for you?" "I am only thinking of you" "Just do as your told".

So i do and as i drink my purefresh mountain water i think, " what ever happened to the good old days............spare ribs..............cold beer..........mmmmmmmmmmmm"

Eric,

My daughter may give your son a run for his money, when it comes to burning calories while talking..lol

Monika & Wayne,

Salads are great and there are so many different kinds. But, I have to make dinner also...salad doesn't quite equal dinner in my husbands dictionary..lol. The kids can't escape either....we have standing rule ..everyone sits down to dinner...so I guess they are trapped :) But, it all is working out...they are getting more fit and healthier and don't even realize it..lol
