Conventional ad exchange rewards visitors for viewing an ad for 10 or 20 seconds. When the time is up, common sense tells the visitors to leave ASAP and go to the next ad for more credits. It is basically chasing visitors away.

Worst still, with a timer ticking every second, visitors are more likely to look at the timer rather than your ad.
