MLM as You Know it is Dead......And the Internet killed it.

In my personal opinion, the network marketing/work-home industry began a major shift about four years ago that has finally spun into high gear. In a nutshell, the promise of old school MLM and life-long residual income are all but dead for the average person. They have been cut down at their knees by an unlikely culprit whom I‘ll reveal to you in a minute.

Right now, network marketing is in a struggle to find itself in a time where people leave as fast as they join. The cost to sign up a new rep has skyrocketed, and where “newer, bigger, and better” dominates the landscape, which basically means trying to build a downline in the internet age is like trying to fill a leaking bucket.

Some people attribute this to the instant gratification culture that has grown with the advent of the internet. For the most part, it is true.

Network marketing has always been based on the idea of working for 3-5 years and building a lifelong residual income that you can will to your grandkids. The health of your business is built on relationships.

Sounds really good……and it may true at one time, but not today. Not anymore.

This buffer zone allowed relationships to be built, skills to be learned and loyalties to be strengthened.

Unfortunately, the internet destroyed it in the blink of an eye.

Just like your day job. There is no guarantee that you will have your job until you decide to retire or until the mandated time.

So how do we overcome this phenomena?

As the greatest of all internet marketing guru Dan Kennedy would say, “You will continue to be unsuccessful, as long as you depend on others to make you successful”
