Our Mentors in Motion Xooma Marketing Tea, has been exploring using certain specific keywords in our RSS feeds in order to aid in our SEO efforts. If we all use the same keywords in our blogs, we can propel each others' sites to the top of the search engine rankings. We have previously placed our feeds in the websites we wanted to optimize and are busily creating content for our blogs that will attract more traffic to those sites, as they are more frequently updated, search engine spiders will crawl them more frequently. To quote Team Leader Karen Weir:

This was a real team effort, and our work is not yet done. We still have some more research to do on our keyword phrases, and of course, testing will be ongoing. As we know, teamwork truly makes the dream work!

The keywords we have selected for our flagship product Xooma x2o are:

1. Healthy energy drink
2. Vitamin water

The keywords we need to do further research on are:

Hydration
pH
Antioxidants

Liquid vitamin was a popular choice as well. This is a tricky one since the audience it will attract is probably searching for a multi vitamin supplement. While we know that our x2o treated water is destined to become the "next" liquid vitamin, using this term may not bring the targeted traffic we are looking for... or will it?

Who is our target market for this product? Health conscious individuals who may be surfing looking for a vitamin supplement may NOT be actively seeking our product, but they may well be interested in it.

Our vitamin water is not a multi vitamin, but it is a mineral supplement and great source of coral calcium. Health conscious individuals are already aware of the importance of hydration, and increasing our intake of alkaline foods to offset the highly acidic diets. The understand the importance of providing the body with more alkaline to help our body maintain the appropriate pH balance.

When choosing keywords, it is important to consider your target market. it is wise to start with a broad market, and continuously test, then narrow the target market down. Those health conscious individuals already understand the role of pH balance in the body, but there is another market of people who require education on the pH in the human body and how the body compensates for highly acidic diets.

Next our research will focus on keywords descibing the business opportunity side of our product, a business that you too can join as a distributor, and make money from a home-based business built on a current, exploding trend. Correction: There is actually no Mentors in Motion Xooma Marketing Tea, but if there were I would probably be drinking it. Just a typo, it should be Team, not Tea. For some reason I couldn't edit this once I noticed the mistake. Those interested in the Tea should brew some of their own and add an X2O sachet. I'll bet you'll love it:)
