Howdy from the mountains of North Carolina

I've been associated with Cognigen for three years, or so, and maybe I'm a strange fit.
I don't have a cell phone and I don't make long distance calls, so I don't try to promote those products.
On the other hand, I have a lot of experience with the Internet, having purchased T1 lines when I was a SysAdmin in a previous life.
Oh, yeah, broadband isn't available where I live, so I'm still on a very slow dial-up connection, but it's a lot better than sending smoke signals!
So, basically, I'd make a lousy Cognigen customer.
I register most of my domains through DomainsWithUs and I hosted a few sites with HostingWithUs before moving all of them to HostGator this year.
I live in a rural area and I'm a full-time caretaker for my Mom, so I don't get out much.
If I lived in a city, I'd be seriously marketing broadband services. ShopForT1 is great and the prices are very competitive. A little over 10 years ago, when I was the SysAdmin for a company that brought the first Internet connections to this county, we had to pay for a dedicated line with Sprint to Asheville - about 100 miles away - and were paying over $10,000 per month for the connection. Now, through ShopForT1, they could get a connection for a small fraction of that.
Competition is great for the customers, maybe not so much for folks who get paid on commission.
(grin)
These days, I promote Cognigen services solely online, but haven't been making many sales lately.
I was very sad to hear of Kevin Anderson's passing, but I'm sure Cognigen will continue to grow and be a tribute to all the hard work he put into founding the company and helping all of us promote it.
I look forward to meeting fellow Cognigen agents here.
All the best,
JD
