The answer to this is not part of a scientifically researched topic,it is my answer and mine alone.
The answer to the question:
Receiving a good testimonial makes me feel good.....
Writing a testimonial about a friend,makes me feel good....
and when I feel good......I am good.
So writing testimonials is all about...feeling good
as simple as that
