Just curious how many of you utilize hosting webinars and online events to attract new customers.

I have strongly considered it, but haven't done it yet. I have done several one-on-one sessions with Skype and made lots of videos.

I have been holding weekly webinars (Thursdays) since March 2013. I use them to share online marketing methods and post them on my training site.

Patty who do you use to host the webinars?

Bruce if you are looking for a webinar venue, you should check out http://www.creativelive.com/ where I recently attended one for three days from 9 to 4 without a glitch.

Warren, that is a very awesome service, but to host a webinar there, they expect one to do regular events that educate on some topic. As such its a little beyond my needs.

My webinar is to explain to the world what the marketers cooperative is all about and explain who are partners are, what they provide us with, and why one may want to consider becoming a free member.

Kind of beyond the scope of educating in terms of what that site expects. None the less that is a very awesome resource, I bookmarked it and will definitely be checking out more of the courses they have.

Bruce have you considered doing a video and posting it on Amazon S3? You could even do it in a recorded, on demand webinar format with a couple of volunteers to make it realistic, but eliminate the scheduling problems found in a real time webinar.

I actually thought about a multitude of ways to do this, but I am a very social person and talking to people person to person always lands the deal in my experience.

Also the event already has give or take 50 people saying they will attend, so I wouldn't want to disappoint :)

(anyone reading this is of course free to contact me if they have not yet heard of the event and I will send you a link to either the facebook or the g+ event page)

Bruce, I use Google Hang Out. I embed it live onto my blog for live broadcast because Google Hang Out can't handle that many people yet. I do a Hangout on Air so it's recorded at the same time. Then I put it on my training site for everyone to view. Once a month I hold a live G+ hangout that is open Q&A. It is recorded too.

This provides traffic to my blog and traffic to my training site :)

Patty, I have heard of others doing this, and my solution is equally as well as G+ hangouts - my only worry is if a bunch of unruly people come in. Hangouts don't generally allow for much in the way of moderation and if hundreds of people come in talking, there is no way to say to people "hey shut up I host this event now listen up" (not that I would be so rude). Its more about the ability to be able to assign who gets to speak, and the ability to moderate I really am concerned with. Have you ever ran into such troubles with hangouts?

What I would do then Bruce is to invite those that you want to have there that you know will behave and then put the live broadcast on a website where others can watch and leave questions and comments. Just embed the hangout on the site. That way you still have control :)

I checked out countless options on how to do this, and I actually decided I am going to host it using paltalk.

I have a custom solution but it was not exactly what I was looking for. So I decided paltalk is what I will try. Hopefully all will go smoothly :)

Private Hangouts are easily organized and produced.

Chuck, private hangouts don't allow hundreds of people realtime to interact. In fact hangouts don't at all. Whereas one can interact via a website + gangouts, thats not the same as hosting with people live face to face.
