Strategy One

Create A Site And Sell It!

The first thing that I suggest you do is to review all the PLR products that you have downloaded onto your hard drive and sort them into categories.

For example you might first sort them into general categories such as Business, Self Development, Leisure, Entertainment, etc.

Then you can organise them into sub-categories.

Once you've sorted them out you may find, like I did recently, that you have more than one PLR product on a particular topic... you may have the rights to an ebook together with a few articles.

So, step one is to choose a topic and then review all the materials and use them to create a finished ebook. I usually import everything into OpenOffice and then convert the finished document into a PDF file.

Choose a name for your product and then register a matching domain.

Once you have a product and a domain name, have new graphics including a header, footer, book cover, background and order button made. This will probably cost you between $50-$150.

Then write some copy and use your graphics to set up the sales page and download page for your product.

You are now ready to sell the site. You can sell your sites on Ebay (although not the best place to get a top price), and several webmaster forums such as Sitepoint.com

When you're writing your description to sell your site, remember that you are selling the benefits of ownership. Far too many people talk about all the features and functions... concentrate on selling the dream!

Hi John,

My name is John Turner - but I find that for some reason people often call me Taylor or Tucker. Do you ever get that?

And, with such a common name as mine [much more so than either Taylor OR Tucker] at least 2 or 3 people -out of every gathering of people I encounter- tell me: "Oh I know another 'John Turner' . . . .lol!!

Anyway, I'm glad to be here. A good friend and business associate of mine sent me the welcome email today, and as soon as I arrived, I signed up and upgraded to 'Pro'. Apsense seems positioned to become a major learning and networking resource for all of us.

This is my second go-round at starting a business online. My first was wildly successful for about a year. Then in 2000, the proverbial "bottom fell out".

After about six years on the sidelines, I've chosen to go into the PLR products business, and I appreciate you for starting this discussion group on the subject!

Like you and everyone in this business, I've accumulated many GigaBytes of PLR product "zip" files on my harddrive. I'm in the 'Orgainizing Phase' right now.

As you suggested, I'm establishing and implementing a filing and cataloging system designed to be easily and profitably used now -by me as a one-man operation - and by anyone I might decide to hire later on.

I don't think we can emphasize enough how valuable it is to be able to quickly assemble PLR product campaigns and packages to modify, upgrade, customize and promote. And that ability begins with a simple but powerful storage and retrieval taxonomy.

The only formalized system I've ever seen is described in a free e-book titled: "The Expert Guide To Organizing Internet Marketing Information" by
Alex Goodall. Goodall lays it out for the 'DIY' approach, and offers for sale a great self-contained implementation of the idea for the rest of us.

If you're interested, just Google the title and author. Of course I'll be happy to send you my affiliate link if you email me.

Hi John,
I just copied your post on "Create A Site And Sell It! " Filed away for future use.
Great Info! A review of all my PLR products will take some time, I have so many.

" step one is to choose a topic and then review all the materials and use them to create a finished ebook. I usually import everything into OpenOffice and then convert the finished document into a PDF file."

I am excited about this ,as I just finished a course with Bob the Teacher on creating your
own PDFs. This opens up a whole new field and with your info I am going to do just as you suggested. I also just got Soren's banner maker that I like so I'm away!

Organizing for the new Year ahead.
My best to you, Happy New Year!
