Let me tell you a story first before we get into this:

24 years old and just browsing the internet and doing the social thing. At this point I had no idea that it was possible to make money online without a product (either that or I was highly skeptical like most and thought everyone was trying to scam me lol)

Then one day my Skype comes up with a unknown friend request so just this once i thought "what the heck, lets give it a go. I'm bored anyway!"

Turns out this contact is from Germany and sounds very excited about something. Naturally curiosity forced me to ask why. He was happy because he was receiving $27 after $27 multiple times per day and wanted to get me involved.

2 hours later he had me convinced and I immediately joined and set to work on promoting.

Now, what made me mad about this program was that it was anything but easy as originally pointed out by my sponsor and it certainly did not bring the flow of money I sought to produce but the point was I was sucked into this by just plain lies covered over by a typical salesman pitch.

Marketing is far from honest and nearly 10 years on not much has changed. Its as filthy a business as it was back in the early 2000's but one thing has changed in all that time. My ability to understand what makes a good money maker.

The original program I got sucked into turned out to be just another gifting program and getting $27 from anyone was a mean feat with absolutely no experience so it was a very daunting process.

Today the prices have changed but the methods haven't. If you have absolutely no idea about internet marketing you are going to suffer. Even the simplest task can be the difference between you quitting or continuing.

I only speak from experience because I actually talk to beginners quite a lot through my skype room and even the process of getting a referral link can take upwards of 20 minutes to explain. It's hard work believe me.

I do have a few methods and systems for the beginner to learn the process at my site The Downliner but even with videos and live assistance the beginner is going to have a hard time so what is the answer.

Really there is no answer other than the answer to "are you willing to learn?". Those who come online to earn fail because most of them although computer literate to a degree, have absolutely no idea how the internet marketing process works.

You can spend money on CPC campaigns to obtain traffic and sales but if you have no idea how to write an ad or link it to an offer how are you ever going to get that started?

That's exactly why I built The Downliner. People are always trying to teach someone to earn money as if they have some knowledge of doing it already.

Experienced marketers (or most) lack the ability to understand that these people are beginners like they once were and need to be taught essentially the ABC of internet marketing.

I designed my site to teach them like this. 3 levels. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. If you are an absolute beginner like I was then just start on the Beginner level. There's no need to rush into anything.

Internet Marketing and indeed opportunities haven't changed over the last 10 years so they are not going to change any time soon. Make sure you understand everything.

Don't assume you are going to be rich in a very short time because unless you are already that's not going to happen for a while. Lets say for now you will become comfortable with a second income.
