There's an over 90% rise in smartphone sales especially with the advent of the 4G network, people keep saying 4G isn't here yet and if that's true then why are they advertising it? Anyway, I believe this year is the year that the smartphone is going to explode and it will have a huge effect on how we Marketers reach our customer base. Now smartphone users can access site that were only for desktops I think smartphones will out sell desktops. The Android is on the heels of the IPhone sales and I know for sure that no matter what device, people are engaging in online commerce with their phones.

Google seems to be out in front with their keyword tool, so customers will be doing a lot more mobile shopping because the sites are optimized for mobile shopping. Customers do different things while on the go like search for directions, coupons. The question could be how do you know what your customers needs are? While a mobile website can be a new direction for your company you still have to know your customer and their needs. Trust me when I say that the fight for mobile web space will be fierce, just act ahead of the curve to keep your customers and attract new ones.
