We are fast approaching that time of year again when everyone in the industrialized world goes shopping crazy. I'm talking about Christmas time. While few people will celebrate the true meaning of that date, namely the birth of Jesus Christ, most will get consumed with the commercialism, running from mall to mall seeking the "right" gifts for there loved ones.

Now, don't get me wrong, I want people to spend money and buy gifts, lots of gifts. I just want them to buy them from me :)

Is this being hypocritical? I don't think so. It's ok for me, or anyone else for that matter, to have two or more view points on any one given subject.

Fact, Christmas is the day that Jesus Christ was born.

Fact, Christmas is the most commercial time of year.

Both are facts, both are true. I believe both, and I want to benefit from both.

I want to continue going to my Christmas mass and to give thanks to God for giving us this day, the day his son was born. After all, his son, Jesus the Christ, made the ultimate sacrifice, he died on the cross so that all of our sins could be forgiven.

I also want to benefit from the commercialism. I want people to shop til they drop, I just want them to do so in my business. My business is an online business. It is a Cyber Mall called "OMG, Shopping is fun"! Let's face it, people are going to spend money and go on frantic shopping sprees. It happens every year, no matter what the state of the economy. When it comes to Christmas time people love the whole experience. Getting the gifts, wrapping the gifts, giving the gifts and watching the facial expressions of their loved ones as they open up their gifts. There is only slight difference what occurs when the economy is not stable as when it is, people spend a little less money. But, they still spend.

Knowing this, and positioning yourself to reap some of those "Christmas" rewards is being wise, and a head of the game.

As online business owners, or affiliate marketers, we play an important role in that whole holiday experience. We perform a service by reviewing products and otherwise making products accessible to those in our niche. Many of us have lists, friends, followers, and members, that heed our advice. And just as shoppers in the brick and mortar world are reminded to be on guard while shopping at malls and/or large urban department stores for pickpockets and other slick scoundrels, online shoppers have to be reminded to watch out for "cyber pickpockets" and other types of cyber thieves. This becomes truer as we get closer to the actual day, December 25. It seems that there are many that wait until the very last moment before rushing out to find that "right" gift for that special person. Inevitably, that is the time when their guards on down most, and the time when predators are most likely to pounce.

Christmas comes but once a year, time for joy and time for cheer. Let's help make this Christmas season a happy, and profitable one for all. It can be, you know why? Because OMG, Shopping is fun
