The Jeffersons was orginally shown on CBS on Jaunary 18, 1975, soon to be 32 years ago.  The show lasted a whopping 11 seasons, with 253 episodes!  It is the standing, longest running comedy with a predominately African American Cast. 

I love so many of the sitcoms from the 60's and 70's, that it is rather hard to narrow down my top 10 favorite count.  The Jeffersons, hands down, is in my top 10 favorite comedy sitcoms.

Personal note:

Our family business used to be located right off of the Pacific Coast Highway.  We were fortunate to meet quite a few Hollywood stars passing by, for many years.

Sherman Hemsley stopped by once.  He is one of the nicest people that you ever want to meet.  Extremley down to earth, and appeard to be rather shy, unlike his character on the Jeffersons.  What an honor to meet such a talented and nice guy!
