Tim Marsden is one of Queensland’s best news photographers, with over 30 years of experience in the industry.

He began his newspaper career in Coffs Harbour, before moving to Gladstone in Central Queensland where he spent 12 years as chief photographer of The Gladstone Observer.

During that time he mentored a number of photographers, including his son Luke, Peter Wallis, Bill Watson and Jeff Camden who all became successful metropolitan press photographers.

A move to the Gold Coast in 2007 saw him working for the Courier-Mail and Sunday Mail and last year a short stint at the Gold Coast Bulletin.

In 2013 Tim won a Clarion award for News Photograph of the Year and has a number of other highly commended media-related awards.
