Wedding styles from 2021 that will carry over to 2022

Did you know that the Indian wedding industry takes up as much as $14 billion of the world’s economy? As for trends, both traditional as well as non-traditional looks will be dominating in 2022 for wedding looks. The experts of Indian wedding planner highlighted that florals, feathers and silhouettes will remain the major trend throughout.

Floral Motifs

Floral designs reigned this season, and experts thought this style was incredibly stunning. Mini dresses with three-dimensional floral appliqués were shown by Markarian, while gowns with florals, sequins, and beading were shown by Alyne by world class designers. There was a variant to suit every bride's style.

Ballet-Inspired Details

Blush tones, grosgrain ribbons, and airy tulle are not new in bridal, but ballet touches—from tutu-esque skirts to leotard-like necklines—were all the rage this season. And it did not end there: for 2022, there were plenty of bows and ribbons, sheer details, and dreamy yet sophisticated ballerina-pink colours.

Color and Prints

This style is for the bride who is unconcerned with the status quo, says the destination wedding planners. Blush was once the go-to colour, followed by ginger and champagne, but today we are seeing pistachio, dove, lavender, and sky blue in the mix. For a feminine yet cool take on aisle-appropriate colour, these gentle tones are here to stay. In fact, even for events as monumental as your wedding ceremony, you may have fun with fashion and play dress-up.

Dramatic Feathers

Designers are presenting women with the option to amp up their bridal wear as the return of large-scale weddings approaches. Several of the designers' collections feature dramatic feather accents.

A Wardrobe of Earrings

It's no surprise that earrings are making such an impression after a year of sweatpants and the occasional dress-up on Zoom. They draw emphasis to your face, lengthen your neck, and offer movement beneath your veil. Consider your look's neckline and ornamentation first, then style accordingly; high necklines work well with an earring that doesn't compete with its placement on your neck, but a strapless piece may call for a bolder pick, such as a shoulder duster.

Vintage Vibes

It is not just about dresses made from dead stock and responsibly sourced and crafted materials for the aisle; it's also about enjoying a moment in a dress from another era. After a year of little to no fashion manufacturing and a desire to find something truly unique, vintage dressing is on the rise. What used to feel too costumed or forced in previous seasons has become theatrical and of-the-moment.
