Things to know about United Basic Economy Class

by Andrew Smith SEO Expert

About two years ago, United Airlines announced they would also include new basic economy fare for their domestic flights. That made me optimistic. Although it doesn't include advance seating systems and there are some restrictions related to luggage, but it gave me some hope that I can roll with it. Not for international trips, but for solo, domestic trips I was definitely going to use this service.

Recently, I had to go to Chicago to attend my brother's wedding and decided I will go with United basic economy class. I usually pack less and shop more for such events, so why not? I called United Airlines Phone Number and booked the basic economy tickets. There was a notable price difference, and I was happy that I saved some money.

Here's what I felt about this service of United Airlines:

The main reason behind creating basic economy fare is to compete with budget airlines such as Spirit and Southwest. But unlike these budget airlines, United provides pretty good services. You are charged with their "most restricted" fares. Thanks to United Airlines Customer Services.

The best thing is there are no different part or cabin for basic economy class. You seat with the regular economy travelers and enjoy the same services as them, but there are some restrictions. You can't upgrade your United Airlines Reservation and only hold a personal item with you. But as the fares are quite low, I think most of us can roll with it.

How much will you save:

If you are opting for the basic economy fare, then it will save you approx $80-150 per ticket. Again, it depends on the route you are flying and available tickets. For example for a flight which cost $500 for economy class, you can save somewhere around $120 and a flight which cost 350$, you will be saving approx $80. I am not telling that you will always opt for this class, as sometimes it worth and sometimes it's not.

Although, I think United never actually want you to book basic economy tickets as there are very few tickets available for this class. The competition because of the low-cost airlines made United create this fare group.

My Reviews:

This fare group sounds suitable for the solo traveler who carries light. Most of the features are as good as economy class. Here I will be reviewing the service on the scale of 5:

Booking Process:

Rating: 4/5

Most of the times I Call United Airlines directly for the tickets. In the booking process, I felt that United was trying to sell me the regular economy class tickets but when I made clear that I need the basic economy tickets they booked it. Though, it's good as it will stop you from booking these accidentally.

Baggage Allowance:

Rating: 5/5

If you pack smartly, you can use best out of it. For such fare, the baggage allowance is quite reasonable. For me, it worked, so I am giving 5 points out of 5.

In-Flight Experience:

Rating: 3/5

You will be getting the same services, but the availability of a seat is total luck. You will be getting free drinks but no free food. That is why I gave it 3 points out of 5.

If you are also thinking to book a ticket on this fare you can dial United Airlines Contact Number or Visit the website Air flight reservation.
