The Two Powers Come Together: Apple Join Hands with Salesforce

by Zeba Rohila Experienced Blogger
Here’s the big news that is surely going to create a buzz among Salesforce developers. The two super heroes Apple and Salesforce are coming together for the first time and that too with a bang! The two are collaborating to revolutionize business processes, enterprise customer support and launch edgy enterprise apps.

Who doesn’t know about Salesforce- world’s largest Customer Relationship Management solution that has reshaped the world of computing? Affordable, cloud based CRM software that comes at a fraction of cost and doesn’t require a whole bunch of IT experts to set up. What add to its popularity is its no maintenance operation and easy to work as employees can simply log in and start working on it. You just need any device with an internet connection – smartphone, laptop or tablet and you are good to go! It takes all the adjectives to describe it-cheaper, faster and easier that streamlines all the business processes including, marketing, sales and customer support, and allows all the teams across the enterprise to work in sync.  This has helped in scrutinizing crucial sales and customer data in details just to draw more insight on how to generate new customers or clients and enhance services.

With the announcement at World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2017 that Apple has become a new partner of Salesforce, soon speculations started as how this collaboration will prove to be fruitful for enterprises. At WWDC, Apple unveiled its newest version iOS 11 which is going to hit the market later this year and detailed about some of its exciting features -Business Chat is one of them. It’s a new enterprise customer support platform designed especially for iOS 11 and this will aid all messaging, interactions and Apple Apps which was introduced in iOS 10 last year. Not only this, it has the capability to integrate Maps, Spotlight search and Safari and all this will be possible with the support of Salesforce and other partners.

Let’s see how this collaboration is going to benefit users.

The IMPhone is a new feature introduced in iOS 11 and with the help of this, companies can connect with their customers and start live IM conversation for their different services like order placement, troubleshooting and addressing to their queries etc. To add more, the incoming IM queries can be directly send to the concerned department at a company via a CSP, and if require, customer executive can go through the previous conversations with that customer only to provide him with the required assistance.

Another functionality that eases business interaction is Business Chat Sandbox. For Business Chat clients, Apple has given a web-based sandbox which will help corporate developers and CSPs to test their interactions and customize iMessage App extensions. With the help of this, firms can send notifications to users in response to their requests or queries. However, customers will have an upper hand as they can ignore notifications, delete conversation or block the company from messaging them.

Enterprise iMessage Apps, though it is a feature introduced with iOS 10, it displays a set of iMessage App extensions and promises excellent customer services. One such extension is List Picker that offers customers an array of options in a graphical format to choose from and that could be a list of products etc. Similarly, Time Picker is for scheduling appointments and Apple Pay which has proved to be a boon in today’s cashless economy. With the help of this, users can make transaction easily within the chat session. What’s more, Apple has also given this provision that companies can customize their own response app extension according to their business requirement.

The partnership is surely a big step towards providing strong support to enterprises so that they can enhance their customer services and with all the functionalities that iOS 11 is coming with, will surely going to benefit both Apple and Salesforce.
