by Suresh Nanda The Ananta Udaipur

Udaipur, the beautiful city in Rajasthan, is basically famous for forts, lakes, and palaces. It is also known as “The Venice of the East”. It is so because it is a city immersed in the beauty of a lot of lakes. One of the biggest, the most beautiful and the most famous one is Lake Pichola. The enormous edifice that highlights the lake or the lake highlights the marvel is the City Palace. It is basically a huge complex consisting of 11 palaces inside it. All of them were built by different rulers. These palaces, forts and lakes, their existence in the most beautiful manner are proof of a gigantic history that the city has experienced. Udaipur was actually the capital of the Mewar kingdom.

Udaipur has a serene touch to itself. Things are quite at peace with a touch of the yesteryears of the royal treatment. It seems the kings and the queens have left their mark on everything they touched there. The fragrance itself is quite royal. As it is one of the most popular holiday destinations of India, it is also quite popular to get a bit of royal treatment. To look for a nice place to stay at, and if the pocket allows, a luxury hotel in Udaipur should be the best option. Such hotels make one indulge into all sorts of luxuriousness with their fine amenities, services, and heart sinking rooms. They are quite successful in imparting a piece of luxury to the guests that they can take home with them as a memory.

There are some pretty interesting things to do in the royal city of Udaipur. One of them is to visit the Lake Palace. It is situated in the middle of the beautiful Lake Pichola. In the earlier days, this fine idea of constructing this beautiful structure right in the middle of the waters was to get a touch of the water breeze during the biting heat of the day. Now it has been turned into yet another luxurious hotels in India. It comes out to be a vision, a bright white structure, right in the middle of the lake. The other extraordinary place to go to in Udaipur is the Monsoon Palace. It is one of the most visited places in Udaipur. It is located on a hilltop. It was built with the purpose of looking out for the monsoon clouds, hence the name. Apart from just visiting the place and experiencing all that the palace has to give, one can get a marvellous panoramic view of the city.

For accommodation in Udaipur, the city is full of beautiful hotels, the luxurious ones are obviously the best ones. Udaipur is a city one would love to visit again and again because the forts, palaces and the lakes have innumerable stories to tell.
