Stylising Your Garden For Summer 2022

Spring is finally here, so now's the time to start thinking about how to style your garden for the summer.

There are many ways you can choose to arrange your garden (at least 90 according to this article!) so here are five tips to help you make the most.

1. Choose A Colour

Firstly, decide on a colour. Once you know what tones to highlight in your garden, you can start selecting plants, flowers, ornaments and furniture to fit the theme.

Brighter colours hit hard, so think yellows and pinks.

2. Design With Layers

Is everything in your garden at the same level? Layering can be tricky if you have a flat piece of land in your yard, but there are things you can do.

Use different height plants, bigger and smaller pots, and stand things on top of other things! Just make sure that everything isn't at the same height - especially if that's pretty much floor level.

3. Install a Fire Pit

You might be surprised to discover that you can buy outdoor furniture with a fire pit. These modern designs take entertaining guests to the next level. Most commonly made with rattan (or wicker), this type of patio furniture isn't cheap - but nothing worth having ever is!

4. Add Some Decking

Decking will help with the layers element we spoke about earlier on. You can stain the wood in a range of colours, however, dark staining can add natural warmth to your outdoor living space.

It doesn't have to be expensive, just shop around for deals and clearance items.

5. Light it Up Properly

Perhaps my favourite way of illuminating the garden is with low-level lighting. LED globe lights do a great job of adding ambience and atmosphere.

Set them at ground level amongst plants (but not covered by them). They also look great flanking a garden path or seating.
