The website is the front face of your brand and plays a significant role in your online business. Website creation is one of the most in-demand skills in the digital marketing industry, as many companies are heading towards converting their offline business online.

WordPress Website

In this article, we will mention steps on how to make a WordPress website:

Step 1: Choose your website platform

There are various website platforms that you can use for website creation. Another name for these website creation platforms is the Content Management System. It gives you some beneficial tools you can use to edit your website’s contents, and it provides interfaces similar to Facebook or Google Documents. So, if you are someone who does not know how to code, then WordPress is the best choice for you.  WordPress is an open-source, versatile, fast, and secure CMS option among other counterparts.

Step 2: Pick a name, domain, and web hosting

Once you decide WordPress as your website platform, then comes the most exciting part of the process: your website’s name. While determining your website’s name, make sure you choose the name which is easy to memorize, short, easy to type, unique, and includes your niche related keywords. You can use tools like Domain Wheel for suggestions.

Once you select your website’s name, set a web hosting and domain. Web hosting is like a rented space in which your website stays and gets visited. There are many web hosting services you can choose from as per your necessities and specifications.

Step 3: Get comfortable with the WordPress user interface.

Once you choose the web hosting service and set up your WordPress account with that, login into the main WordPress interface with the same login credentials. Once you successfully login into WordPress, you can make the following changes:

  • Set permalinks: Permalinks mean how your URLs are structured within your website.
  • Go public: To appear in the search engine results, make sure you make your website public.
  • Set website title: Your website’s title appears in various places like homepage, SEO description, etc. You can set your website title by going into the “Settings” and then go to “General” and then set the “Site Title.”
  • Set comments section: You can allow or disable the comments on your website as per your preference. However, your visitor’s opinions enable you to build a strong community.
  • Set your time zone: Setting your time zone helps you in targeting your customers at a specific location. You can either select your time zone or your target audience’s time zone as per your objective.

Step 4: Set a theme for your website

WordPress offers multiple themes packages you can choose from as per your industry and preference. Once you pick a theme that suits you, you can install it and customize it as per your preferences. To install your selected theme, go to “Appearance” and then go to “Themes” and click on the “Add New” option. For theme customization: Go to “Appearance” and then click on “Customize.”

Step 5: Get plugins

Plugins add more functionality to your website by adding necessary features. Plugins are free and very straightforward to install. You can add plugins by going to “Plugins.” Then, click on “Add New.” After that, search the required plugin and click on “Install” and “Activate.”

Step 6: Create pages

Once you are done with plugins, create basic pages of your website. Your basic pages can include “About Page”, “Contact Page”, “Privacy Policy”, “Portfolio” etc. Setting these basic pages makes your visitors understand your brand and your services.

Step 7: Start a blog

Content marketing is an excellent method to promote your products and your services. In your blog, you can publish articles related to your brand niche. With WordPress’s blogging tools, you can post your articles quickly.

Step 8: Adjust your website navigations

Adjusting your website navigations enables your customers to access your website easily. The two significant navigations are “Menus” and “Widgets.” Menus are the first vehicle through which your visitor navigates your website. Widget is a little content section that you can put on different places on your website.

Conclusion

WordPress is the most convenient platform for people who do not know how to code. Making your website saves you a lot of time and money and enables you to set ahead of your competition.
