Log on to the Hotmail homepage and enter your Windows Live user ID followed by "@Hotmail.com" into the "Windows Live ID" text field. Enter your password into the "Password" text field and click the "Sign In" button to log in to your email account.

Click on the "Inbox" link from the navigational menu on the left. This will bring you to your in-box folder so that you can view all of the emails you have received.

Select the email you would like to read and click on it to view the email using the Hotmail reading pane. When you are finished reading the email, click the "Inbox" link on the left navigational menu to return to your in-box.

Click on the "Sign Out" link in the upper-right hand corner of the screen to sign out of your Hotmail account when you are finished checking your email.
