Self-Drilling Anchors In Chenani-Nashri Tunnel Construction

by Anchor S. Web Designer

The all-weather Chenani-Nashri tunnel being constructed with the cost of Rs 2519 crore on Srinagar-Jammu Highway will be completed in the next three months. The tunnel besides being all-weather will reduce the distance between the two capital cities of the state by 31 kilometers.

The Chenani-Nashri Tunnel (also known as Patnitop Tunnel) in Udhampur is in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir has opened to traffic, which is the longest road tunnel project in the country. The 9km long Patnitop tunnel was built at the foot of the Himalayan mountains and will connect the districts of Chenani and Nashri.

Self-drilling anchors in Chenani-Nashri tunnel construction

The Patnitop tunnel is a part of the planned four-lane widening of the National Highway 1A (NH1A) between Srinagar and Jammu. The tunnel will act as an alternative to the existing NH1A section, which faces geometric and safety concerns, as it passes through steep mountain terrains.

Self-drilling anchor system is an effective and popular anchoring tool extensively used in tunneling. When the tunnel is built in the mountain terrain or the surrounding of broken rockloose soil layer, where is difficult to drill. Self-drilling anchors can combine drilling, grouting, and anchoring together without casing pipe, and then ensure the anchoring effort in the complicated geological condition. Sinorock is an experienced manufacturing and trading company specialized in the research & development production and sales of self-drilling anchors and other anchoring products. Sinorock adopts the advanced production equipment and stringent quality control procedures so that the equipment used in the construction is safe and efficient. Meanwhile, we devote ourselves to provide clients with a one-stop solution for geotechnical anchoring.
