Today’s amazing pace of technological improvements has led us. But that does not mean that our faith in God should remain sedentary as well. Thanks to the invention of smartphones. Apps blow my mind. Seriously. I remember when using the Internet on my phone was a waste, and if I randomly began the Internet my parents would be charged a funny amount for my two seconds of access. Now, I use apps regularly. I have an app that gives me a refund if my supermarkets were found cheaper elsewhere, an app that teaches me another language, and an app that follows calories that I’ve burned. In fact, there are nearly 1.6 million apps in the Apple App Store alone! here’s my list of the best free Christian apps 2018.

Prayer Calendar

There are those of us like me who want to pray for the church outside but don’t know how. I don’t know what, who, or where to pray for; I hear the stories of Christian beheadings on the news but don’t know how to pray for those who have been killed for believing in Christ. This app, created by the Voice of the Martyrs, posts one particular prayer request per day for countries facing oppression and sends you notifications to pray daily.

This app has over 1,000 versions of the Bible with audio. You can find hundreds of reading plans, bookmark your favorite verses, and get notifications for your daily Bible verses. Spending an idle time in line waiting, just open the app and take a few moments to read God’s words. Turn to God anywhere you want and anytime you need to peace and encouragement.

One of my biggest efforts as a Christian is praying every day. Every day, the app features a different Psalm, Old Testament, and New Testament reading, as well as many other daily prayers. The featured prayers follow along with the Christian Church Year, and there are prayers available for various seasons of life.
