I wanted to find out what the secret to success in business is and how to
duplicate it in my own businesses. I’ve owned a digital marketing agency “Tulsa
Marketing” for over 20 years and I am always looking for business advice and
ways to grow my business. I have interviewed lots of different business owners
but one successful business owner Brandon Foster from Tulsa, Oklahoma that I
met, has seen tremendous growth in his many different companies. Brandon Foster
owns several companies in the freight & logistics, oil & gas, and
construction space that are very successful. So I decided I would reach out to
him and interview him on what it takes to make a successful company grow to
seven figures and beyond.
What I found was very interesting because it was simple, it’s not some secret
like we think. To make a company successful its actually right in front of us
most of the time but we not always aware of what we need to do because what we
don’t know, we don’t know even though it’s available to all business owners.

Work
Fast but Intelligently-
Brandon Foster mentioned that success doesn't come overnight. Success comes from
long hours in the office and hard work. Making smart and intelligent decisions
on a daily basis speeds up the rate at which the business grows. Making smart
decisions is key to making the business thrive and grow.
Family-
Treating your business, business clients, and your relationships like family.
Working with clients like their family creates relationships that are
long-lasting and always show your clientele that they matter no matter what. No
matter if it's late at night, no matter if it's early in the morning, you are
there for them on the spot ready to solve any problem that arises.
Who
you know-
There is a saying it’s not what you know but who you know. You can grow your
company fast by knowing the right person that can bring you referrals and business.
Partnering with someone who works in the same industry as you and isn’t a
direct competitor allows you to offer services and value to their clients.
Approaching someone in the same industry as you to partner up is a win-win for
both you and the potential partner. You can usually start the conversation off
with “I think my services or products can help and bring value to your clients
and business. Would you be open to discussing?”
There were other things Brandon Foster mentioned that can grow a large
corporation and with his experience with not only growing his own companies but
also procuring companies and bringing them explosive growth there was just too
much to cover.
Brandon Foster’s business experience and the time I spent with him for the interview
opened my mind to what it really takes to grow a successful business. One of
Brandon Foster’s successful companies grosses millions in the high 8 figures
per year and has seen growth year over year. With this in mind, I know his
insight is invaluable and I don’t take his advice lightly.
I will be implementing some of his recommendations especially treating each
client like family. Treating clients like family means going that extra mile
when you need to, being attentive, and solving complex problems fast.
