The QuickBooks company file can just be updated by the admin user.

Navigate to the “File” tab, & select the “Open or Restore Company” tab.
Select the “Open a company file” option.
Hit onto the “Next” tab.
Choose the “data file” tab & click on the “Open” icon.

Note: If the Relocate Company File window shows up, comply with the directions shown.

Check out the information in the Update Company File for New Variation pane.
Tick the box to signify you comprehend, and then choose Update now.
Follow the instructions on how to back up your file. Note where you save your file.
