How to Transfer Data From iPhone to iPhone?

by Scarelet Thomas Digital Marketer

Apple has made it easier for its users to share the data between two iPhone devices. This feature is handy while setting up a new iPhone, it helps you to transfer all data from your previous iPhone. In older Apple devices, you have to create a backup using iCloud or iTunes to transfer data between two Apple phones.

In the newer iPhone versions, the transfer speed is top-notch and you can send data in bulk to other devices wirelessly.

How to Move or Send Data to Your New iPhone?

In order to transfer data locally to the other iPhone, both devices must have iOS 12.4 or newer versions installed. If your older iPhone does not have iOS12.4 version, then try to update it before proceeding further. If your device doesn't support the update for iOS 12.4, then you will have to try other traditional ways.

To transfer data wirelessly using a 'Quick Start' follow the steps below:

1.          When you start the 'Quick Start' process on your iPhone, you will be asked to provide your Apple ID. Type your ID and other credentials.

2.          Hit the 'Continue' button.

3.          Now you will see an animation on your screen, and it's time to place your iPhone above the new iPhone.

4.          Now place the animation in the middle of the viewfinder. Keep it until you see a message "Finish" on the new iPhone.

5.          If that doesn't work, then click the "Authenticate Manually" link on the screen and follow the on-screen instructions.

6.          When asked to enter a passcode, type your old iPhone passcode on your new phone.

7.          Now carefully follow all instructions to set a new Face ID or Touch ID.

8.          After that, choose 'Transfer' from the iPhone to start the data transfer process.

If you are transferring a large amount of data, then you should connect both your iPhones to the charger to let the process run smoothly without any interruptions. Keep both phones close to each other until the transfer completes.

Transferring Data from an Old iPhone to a New One Using a Cable

If you want to go with a wired data transfer, then this tutorial is for you. Before we begin with the 'Quick Start' method, make sure to tether your old and new phones.

You will require a Lightning -to -USB3 Camera Adapter to insert into the new phone, after that use a Lightning -to-USB cable to pair your both devices. Make sure that the end of the USB cable is placed into the camera adapter with the lightning port.

Once the wiring setup is complete, run the Quick Start operation in the same way as above.

1.          Once you begin the 'Quick Start' process on your iPhone, you shall be asked to provide your Apple ID.

2.          Press the 'Continue' button.

3.          Then you will see an animation on your screen; it's time to place your iPhone above the new iPhone.

4.          Now put the animation in the middle of the screen. Keep it there until the Finish message appears

5.          Or, click the "Authenticate Manually" link on the screen and follow the on-screen instructions.

6.          When asked to enter a passcode, type your old iPhone passcode on your new phone.

7.          Now follow the instructions to set a new Face ID or Touch ID.

8.          Select Transfer from iPhone to get started with the data transfer process.
