How to Open an HP Pavilion Computer

We all look forward to upgrading or replace the certain parts and components of you HP Pavilion desktop computer if you have used it for long. Performing this task can actually save the money required to call a service repair technician. Though the case designs of the Pavilion models differ from models to models, you only require a screwdriver to get the access to the internal components of the computer system.

Side Panels models-

a. Take out the cable from the backside of HP Pavilion desktop computer. If required, note down the location of each cable before disconnecting it from the PC.

b. Turn to the back side of the computer to have an access to the back panel.

c. Find and remove the two screws that guard the right side panel in place. You will find one screw at the top of the case and another screw at the bottom.

d. Now slide the panel towards yourself and away from the back of the computer system. And place the panel aside. If necessary, repeat this process with the other side of the panel as well.

e. Now turn the computer to see the front. It will allow you to find the tabs that hold the front cover in its place. You will find three to four tabs on each side of the cover.

f. Press the tabs until the cover releases while pulling forward gently. You are required to use gentle pressure when detaching the front case to avoid the attached cable damage. If required, just keep the note of the location of the cables before detaching them.

Full Cover models-

a. Detach the cables from the back of your HP Pavilion desktop computer. Please make a note of each cable's location before disconnecting it from your PC.

b. To have the access to back panel turn on the computer system.

c. Find and remove the three screws that protect the case in its place. You will find one screw at the top of the computer and other towards the center. While remaining two screws on each side towards the bottom of the device.

d. Now, place your thumbs on the back side of the computer. Remove the cover from the rest of your PC.

e. Until you see the arrows beneath the metal case slide the cover towards yourself. It means the front edge of the case must line up with the arrows.

f. Hold the bottom edge of each side of the case while pulling it upwards. Use a straight motion to dissociate the case from the rest of the system.
